Open 1st March – 31st October.  National award winning site welcoming and peaceful,  adults only caravan site set on a small working farm, located in the hamlet of Greenhalgh, rural Lancashire.  Charoland is a cosy well kept relaxing retreat for like minded individuals who enjoy the countryside and wildlife. The site is surrounded by meadows and farmland making this an ideal spot for walks and cycle trails.  There are numerous interesting villages and towns a short ride away, ensuring your stay can be as active or relaxing as you wish, making for a memorable experience.

The site caters for 10 pitches only. Caravans and motorhomes.  All pitches have the benefit of pay as you go 16 amp electric electricity supply.

Pitches are a hard standing facility either by attractive block paving or low laid webbing under grass.

At the centre of the site is a screened BBQ/picnic area with a small raised pond .

The sheltered service area on the site has fresh and waste water points, a toilet disposal area and recycling bins.

Toilet and shower block with separate mens and ladies toilets/showers and wash hand basins with hand drying facilities and electric shaving point.

There is a small supermarket, Star Bucks, Greggs and Subway within a 15 minute walk.

Dogs welcome (maximum of two) – as this is a working farm, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times when on site.

DOG FRIENDLY PARK

At Charoland Farm we understand that dogs can be a fundamental part of the family,
and as such we do allow dogs on site at our discretion by prior arrangements before
booking.
For the benefit of other guests we have a small number of rules that should be adhered
to throughout your stay at the site.

 Must be kept on a lead at all times and exercised off site.
 Ensure that they do not intimidate livestock, local wildlife or walkers
 A dog prone to barking will cause annoyance to other visitors – please ensure
your pet is quiet and under control at all times.
 Dogs are not permitted in the shower and toilet block.
 No fouling on site may occur, if an accident happens, this must be cleaned up
immediately
 Please do not leave your dogs in your vehicle, caravan, awning or motorhome
while you are away from the site.
 Please do not tie your pet lead to the fencing posts.
 If using a dog lead stakes, please ensure that the lead is only long enough for
your pet to remain on YOUR pitch.

Please note that we do reserve the right to ask patrons to leave the site if their animals
are causing a disturbance to others.

Britain’s most popular holiday resort.  Famous for Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Tower, the
Illuminations and the 19th Century Winter Gardens.  Blackpool has a new breathtaking seafront.

FLEETWOOD – 11 miles
Victorian coastal town with fantastic sea views.

PRESTON – 11 miles
A modern university city voted in the top ten of shopping cities outside London.  Preston has 1,000
years of history with Grade I and II listed buildings, canal and river walks.

LYTHAM ST ANNES – 12 miles
Two neighbouring seaside towns set across a beautiful coastline with parks, boating lake and
rolling sand dunes.  Lytham is famous for its Grade II listed windmill, international golf course,
boutiques and restaurants.   St Annes has a stunning restored Victorian Pier, clean beaches,
shops and cafes.

GARSTANG – 12 miles
Pretty market town with specialist individual shops.  Regular winner of Britain in Bloom.

CLITHEROE – 28 miles
An ancient market town in the Ribble Valley and one of Englands 36 Areas of Outstanding Natural
Beauty (AONB). Clitheroe Castle is now home to a museum and 16 acres of landscaped gardens.
Clitheroe is well known for its plethora of specialist shops.

SOUTHPORT – 29 miles
22 miles of coastline with restaurants, shops, parks and gardens.

LANCASTER – 31 miles
Lancaster is a vibrant university city with a wealth of history, beginning life as a Roman Fort in
80AD. Now its cobbled streets are lined with smart, stone houses filled with lively shops, bars and
restaurants. Norman Lancaster Castle overlooks the city.

FOREST OF BOWLAND – 32 miles
Area of outstanding natural beauty dotted with charming stone villages.

SKIPTON – 46 miles
Skipton is a market town in Airedale, its position overlooking the Aire Gap at the south western
boundary of the Yorkshire Dales National Park earning the town its title as "Gateway to the Dales".
Attractions in the town itself include Skipton Castle (behind which lie Skipton Woods) and the
Leeds – Liverpool canal.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS 

Once a booking has been confirmed we take this as acceptance of our terms and conditions.

Charoland Farm only accommodates adults.  Persons under 18 years of age are not permitted to enter the park .

COVID19

All information is listed on our Corona virus update page which forms part of these terms and conditions, but in summary, you agree to comply with all government advice on Corona Virus applicable at the time of your stay. https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus.

Bookings

A non-refundable deposit of £40.00 is required with each booking with the remaining balance due 4 weeks before your arrival date.   

A minimum 2 night booking is required except for bank holidays.  Bank holiday weekends are for a minimum of three nights and must be paid for in full when booking. 

Balance Payments 
The balance for your booking is payable 4 weeks before the day of your arrival. Please note – no reminder will be sent for balance payment.  Failure to pay the balance on time may result in the cancellation of your booking.

Cancellations

We fully appreciate that situations can sometimes change resulting in alterations to your holiday plans.    We strongly recommend that our customers take out holiday insurance and check to see if they are covered for booking cancellations.  All cancellations must be put in writing/email.

Deposits are non refundable.  If a booking is cancelled up to 1 week prior to arrival then any monies paid (excluding deposit) will be refunded.  All monies will be lost for any bookings cancelled within 1 week of arrival. 

We reserve the right to cancel your booking in the event of conditions beyond our control whereby it is not possible to open the site.  In these circumstances, then we will offer a refund of all monies paid (including your deposit) or you may transfer your booking to an alternative date if preferred.  Such circumstances shall include (but not be limited to) war, terrorism, riots or civil unrest, industrial action, flooding, natural disaster, epidemics, health risks or such similar events (“Force Majeure”).

We do not pay compensation in circumstances where we must cancel your booking as a result of circumstances beyond our control. 

We do not offer refunds or credit notes for early departures.

We reserve the right to cancel any booking at any time where the  information given when booking is found to be inaccurate or not verifiable by us, or if anyone in your party is in breach of our terms and conditions or rules.

Check in

As this is a working farm, we operate a contactless check in, the details of which are forwarded upon booking.

Arrival/Departure

Pitches are available from 1pm on the day of arrival.   Please do not arrive earlier, as we do not have waiting facilities. 

Pitches must be vacated by 11am on the day of departure.  Vacated pitches must be left clear of all property and refuse.

We are unable to offer late departures.

Pitches

Most of our pitches have a large block paved hardstanding with grassed area for awning, with 16amp EHU. (see electricity)

Caravan pitches will accommodate 1 x car and 1 x caravan plus awning 

Motorhome pitches will accommodate 1 motorhome plus pull out canopy

Campervans towing caravans must book two pitches.

Maximum 3 persons total per pitch.

Pitches are to be kept tidy, with the minimum of equipment stored outside, tidily placed.

Cars must be parked within the boundaries of the pitch –one car per pitch, but in any event must not encroach on neighbouring pitches. Additional cars must be booked by prior arrangement and is subject to available space.

Guy lines for awnings and tents must not run onto the neighbouring pitches.

Vehicle/Unit Restrictions

No vans, pickups or commercial vehicles

We cannot take fifth wheel caravans

Motorhome maximum weight 3.5T

Electricity 16 amp

Electricity is metered.  All hook ups are metered to ensure you only pay for the electric used and we operate in line with Ofgem Guidance. The electricity supply is adequate for normal use.  Nuisance tripping may be caused by excess load and or faulty equipment. 

Group Bookings

To preserve the quiet and friendly nature of our site, group bookings are at our discretion and we would ask that you discuss this with us before booking.  We do not accept group bookings of more than 2 pitches with 2 adults per pitch.  If a group booking is accepted, we cannot guarantee adjacent pitches.  Anyone found to have made individual bookings – and then forming a group on arrival  may be asked to leave the park. 

Site Enjoyment

We would request members act in a neighbourly fashion to all.  The owners reserve the right to terminate the visit of any person(s) whose conduct is detrimental to Charoland Farm or to other visitors.

Farm Safety

To ensure the safety of members and their guests – access into any area of the farm other than the caravan site is strictly prohibited.

Visitors

No visitors permitted.  

Customers Pets

Pets are allowed on site at the site owners discretion by prior arrangement.  Please see our Dog Policy for further information.

General

Customers are responsible for the conduct of all occupants of your pitch. Due regard to the comfort of others must be given and musical instruments, audio equipment and televisions operated in such a manner so as to ensure that no nuisance is caused.

Noise must always be kept to a reasonable level. There should be no noise or vehicle movement whatsoever between 11pm and 7am.

No Ball games, kites, use of fireworks or open fires.

Guests are not permitted to carry out any trade or business while on the Site.

The site owner does not accept the use of generators.

All litter MUST be placed inside bins provided.

Vehicles

The speed limit on the site is 5mph anticlockwise direction and this must always be strictly adhered to.

Vehicles must keep to authorised parking spaces and not be parked on the track.

No lorries, vans or other commercial vehicles are allowed to be brought onto the site. This includes towing vehicles.

Caravan tow hitches

Hitches must face the centre of the site for ease of moving in the event of an emergency

BBQ Area

Members are welcome to use the barbeque facility.  Please note that all persons using the BBQ do so at their own risk, the site owner cannot accept any responsibility for any injury caused to anyone using this equipment. We respectfully ask that the area be left clean and tidy after use.

In the event of a fire

In the event of a fire the following actions are suggested:

• Vacate the immediate area.
• Fire point is in the driveway to the farmhouse
• Call the fire and rescue service 999 and give the exact location.  PR4 3HL – Charoland Farm – Farm Entrance

• Inform the site owners

Accidents and Insurance

Caravans and vehicles enter and leave the site at the owner’s risk.   Your caravan/vehicle, contents and all property brought onto the site remains at the sole risk of the owner. The site owner/management shall not be liable or responsible for injury, illness, death, loss, damage, accident or additional expense, however caused, occasioned to, or incurred by any guest or other person.  This includes explosion of inflammable oils, gasses or other materials stored in your caravan. Any claim for compensation that may arise is the responsibility of the caravan/vehicle owner. 

We advise that customers check that their insurances cover all personal and third-party risk for the period of their stay.

Damage or breakages to the site or its property must be reported to the management immediately so that corrective action can be taken.  Damages/breakages will be chargeable to the customer.

Moving your caravan: In the case of an emergency the site owner reserves the right to re-site tourers if necessary.

All accidents or incidents on the park must be reported to the management.
